Why San Francisco
San Francisco is one of the best-mapped cities on OpenStreetMap, and few places have more texture per block: neon hotel signs, old theatre marquees, cable cars, fog, and robotaxis everywhere. The game pokes fun at the city's tech culture through rooftop billboards and a startup-founder boss. The neighborhood itself is the setting, not the target. The zombies are classic movie monsters, and the field guide covers the real history of the streets.
How it's made
It is plain HTML and JavaScript with three.js for 3D, served as static files. The technical write-up is in How we built a real San Francisco map from OpenStreetMap in three.js.
