The best free browser zombie games you can play right now
Browser games have come a long way since Flash. WebGL means a tab can now run a real 3D shooter. Here is a short, honest list of free zombie games that run in your browser, grouped by what kind of game they are. We made the first one, so take that entry with the appropriate grain of salt.
First-person and 3D shooters
Zombie SF: Tenderloin (ours)
A first-person zombie wave shooter set on real San Francisco streets built from OpenStreetMap: the Tenderloin, Mid-Market and Powell St, with neon hotel signs, theatre marquees, a rideable cable car and robotaxis that stop for you but not for zombies. Press V for a top-down view. Works on desktop and phones. Play it here.
Best for: people who know SF, and anyone who wants a quick 3D session without installing anything.
Masked Forces: Zombie Survival
A first-person shooter on CrazyGames where you team up online against waves of zombies. It also has a free-for-all mode. Desktop only.
Top-down and wave survival
Deadrise.io
A wave survival shooter on Poki where the crowds of zombies keep growing. Good for short sessions.
Zombie Rush
A wave survival shooter on Poki that also works on phones and tablets.
Dead Zed
A survival game on CrazyGames where you hold out against waves of zombies that get heavier as you go.
Zombie Hunters Online
Top-down zombie combat you can play online, also on CrazyGames.
Driving through zombies
Zombie Derby and Zombroad
Upgrade a car and plow through the undead. Zombie Derby adds fuel management, and Zombroad is pure momentum. Both are on Poki.
Where to find more
- Poki and CrazyGames both have zombie tag pages with dozens of titles. Quality varies a lot.
- itch.io has a large HTML5 section where indie developers post experimental browser games, often from game jams.
- For the Flash-era classics, the Flashpoint preservation project archives many of them.
How to choose
- Want 3D and atmosphere? Pick a first-person shooter.
- On a phone? Look for games that say they support touch. Ours does; see playing on your phone.
- On a school or work Chromebook? Browser games are often the only option, but please follow your network's rules.
No ratings or scores here. We don't think a list written by one of the developers should pretend to be a review.
